It’s an incredibly sweet deal.
If you’re an aspiring Australian podcaster or you’re looking to level up your audio game you probably need resources, cash, and mentorship.
The Wheeler Centre’s Signal Boost program has you covered.
They’re looking for new ideas and voices. You don’t need a specific podcast concept, they’re more interested in empowering you.
“You come wanting to make podcasts or creative audio and we give you the skills and mentors to help guide you through developing your voice,” says organiser, Maddy Macquine.
“Then after the program (or during) you might want to take those skills and make your own podcast or find freelance audio work.”
The good news is the key requirement is enthusiasm.
“You gotta be keen,” says Maddy.
“It is quite a commitment — we’re (The Wheeler Centre) giving a lot to the participants but also we’re asking a lot. So you’ve got to have the time and the energy to create and invest.”
To apply, you’ll need to record some audio around the theme ‘space’. It can be any style but importantly, it doesn’t need to be fancy. Demonstrating a creative approach and a strong voice is all you need.
Don’t hesitate, jump on this opportunity by August 8, 2021.
