Learn and connect at Audiocraft 2020

Audiocraft Podcast Festival is the only place for podcasters and storytellers to be this weekend.

For five years it’s been a platform for Australian producers to learn from each other about the medium we spend so much time trying to master.

Co-founder, Kate Montague calls it ‘audio Christmas’.

And it feels that way because sharing our gifts and what we’ve learned is a special kind of present.

Everyone loves presents. Presents are awesome.

But of course, the true spirit of Christmas is more than presents — it’s about the people we choose to spend that time with.

Audiocraft is an opportunity for us to come together, to reconnect and to meet new friends.

In doing so we get the chance to discuss the type of industry we want to exist in.

How we can work together to make it better, stronger, bolder, and more inclusive.

Yes, the festival will be a little different this year — for the first time it’ll be online.

In a sad way it means there won’t be beers at 1am with Miles Martignoni and a ragtag group of audio friends.

But in another way, the festival is more accessible than ever before. An online event means reduced travels costs and more speakers and attendees from all over the world.

So I encourage you to get amongst it.

Enjoy the sessions, and also, hit up the designated free spaces to meet new friends.

You won’t regret it. These are people just like you; they want to learn and connect.

Help them do that and you’ll get it back tenfold.

Enjoy the festival!

PS this is the last daily blog post for a while in the July challenge. It’s been really fun, and I have some more ideas and guest posts for the future so no stress, I’ll be back soon! In the meantime, thanks for reading and sharing.
